Our Clothes Swap is back

Discover new gems for your wardrobe while saving the planet

Our brilliant free Clothes Swap with Love Not Landfill is back. In 2023, an incredible 4,594 items were donated (saving approximately 1.2 tonnes of clothing from landfill), 3,383 items were swapped while an amazing 1,476 of you got involved.

Sustainable, stylish and seriously good fun – drop off your preloved clothes at our free Clothes Swap on Saturday 25th May, pick up some tokens then return on Sunday 26th May to uncover incredible fashion gems and find inspired childrenswear for all ages.

Here’s how to get involved:

1. Drop off up to five of your preloved clothes at our Clothes Swap next to Flying Tiger on Saturday 25th May and pick up a maximum of five tokens (10am-4pm).
2. Our team will then carefully curate all the donated items and transform them into our beautiful Clothes Swap.
3. Come back on Sunday 26th May and discover everything from vintage finds to high street essentials (10am-4pm).

Our helpful Clothes Swap terms and conditions

1. Only non-damaged items will be accepted.
2. All items are to be handed to a member of the Clothes Swap team to be assessed on arrival.
3. Once items have been handed over they cannot be returned to the owner, so please only bring garments you no longer want.
4. Items must be clean.
5. For each item (maximum of five), you will receive a token.
6. Due to the nature of the initiative, we cannot guarantee that you will find items you would like to redeem tokens for.
7. Unused tokens must be returned when leaving the event.
8. BL Ealing Limited has the right to donate or process garments that remain unswapped after the event.

What can you exchange?

Laundered adultwear and kidswear: tops, blouses, shirts, trousers, jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, jumpers, cardigans, jackets, coats, eveningwear, handbags, scarves, shawls, belts, hats and shoes.

What is not accepted?

Swimwear, underwear, jewellery, nightwear, gymwear, homeware, damaged or unclean items.

You can also donate all year round. Find Love Not Landfill’s two permanent clothes bank on the First Floor and in St. Saviour’s Walk.

About Love Not Landfill

£12 billion worth of clothing goes into landfill each year – and in the UK – we buy more items of clothing per person than any other country in Europe.

Ealing Broadway has been partnering with the charity Love Not Landfill since 2018 – and you’ve donated over 33 tonnes of clothing to their local clothes banks in that time. Love Not Landfill is a non-profit campaign, run by ReLondon (previously London Waste & Recycling Board) to encourage fast fashion fans to buy second-hand, swap, recycle and give to charity. They aim to encourage 16-24-year-old Londoners never to throw an unwanted item of clothing in the bin.
