Christmas Gift Guide

Make Ealing Broadway your one-stop shop for all things festive this season.

Nothing makes us panic buy quite like the countdown to the festive season. But fear not! We’ve got the perfect pressie waiting for each of the tricky-to-buy-for friends and relations. Let’s get started…

Your other half

Sometimes the person you know best is the hardest person to buy for. Our suggestion? Unless you have been taking thoughtful notes throughout the year (kudos to you) you can’t go wrong with a new outfit from M&S, Next, H&M or Monsoon and/or a scent from Boots or Superdrug. The result? A dapper other half and heaps of brownie points for yourself. You can thank us later.

The beauty obsessive friend

This person already has every product recommended by beauty bloggers and wouldn’t dream about being seen in public without contour. To wow them with a gift, it’s got to produce selfie-worthy results, and have serious dressing-table appeal. A beauty advent calendar from Boots, M&S or Next will keep them on their toes. Containing a new product for every day in December, this will keep them busy beautifying right through party season and beyond. Take note though, this can’t wait for the tree, it’ll need to be gifted a little early!

The kid

Even though Santa is a very busy man and seems to have the whole ‘present giving’ thing in hand, even he may need a little help now and again. If the elves are overworked in your area, a nip to Argos, GAME or Smiggle will usually do the trick. Just don’t forget a pack of batteries if required, or you may be responsible for a few tears on Christmas morning.

The Teen

If you don’t want to receive the classic eye-roll when your teen unwraps your gift, don’t even pretend to guess what is cool. Best to leave it to them, give them a voucher for H&M, River Island or JD Sports so they can shop up a storm with their friends.

Secret Santa

Whether it’s a relative you haven’t seen in a while or a colleague from work, this can be a tough one. Opt for something simple with a bottle of something festive from M&S. If you don’t know your Baileys from your Bordeaux then ask the in-store experts for guidance, and if you know for a fact that they don’t drink, a delicious bottle of non-alcoholic punch or perhaps the latest thriller from Waterstones is the way to go.

The hard-working present buyer (YOU!)

If all this well-prepared present buying has left you feeling a little drained, then a trip to Costa, Starbucks or Patisserie Valerie for a cuppa is very necessary and very well deserved. You could even treat yourself to something scrumptious and sweet!
